The IDC Manufacturing Summit team is delighted to announce its 5th IDC European Manufacturing Executive Summit, to be held in Dublin on November 16-17, 2017.

The Summit is designed as an invitation-only information sharing forum and an intimate networking platform for 40-50 key executives from the European manufacturing industry. Attendees will engage in challenging debates and thought provoking knowledge-sharing with senior IDC analysts and industry thought leaders regarding strategic opportunities to gain competitive advantage. .

2017 is anticipated to be the year when Industry 4.0 will become a reality, with leading European companies moving from smart manufacturing concepts to deliver smart business models. But IDC predicts that by 2018, only 30% of manufacturers investing in Digital Transformation and smart manufacturing will be able to maximize the outcome; the rest are held back by outdated business models and technology.

The new industry imperatives are bringing to market information-based services (not just products) empowered by new levels of manufacturing intelligence, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and robotics. These advancements will further expand direct-to-consumer business models and increase aftermarket revenue, leveraging product and service intelligence to improve the customer experience.

The traditional automation archetypes will be completely surpassed by next generation industrial IT constructs enabled by what IDC refers to as industry collaborative platforms and ecosystems.

This is the manufacturing industry context of today and for the next decade, which is why IDC predicts that by 2019, 75% of large manufacturers will update their operations and operating models with IoT and analytics-based situational awareness to mitigate risk and speed time-to-market.

We look forward to welcoming you to the summit and help you 'Lead in the Information Economy' at #IDCMES17.
